Knowing When is Enough

Yesterday, I read a random article on the popular UK comedian, Lee Evans.

This was asking the question where has he been for the last 10 years or so, as he was a very funny, successful comedian who just seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet!

Know when you have reached your goal and success and be happy with it.

The reason I believe that Lee Evans just seemed to disappear is because he was happy and content with the level of financial reward he gained throughout his career and was happy to step out of the lime light to enjoy this financial freedom in early retirement with his family.

Once he reached his goals, any further work, which would have certainly been successful as he would have sold out stadiums purely off the back of his name, would have added to his wealth, but also would have been an ego trip and would have starved precious time from his family .

Having a clear goal in mind, and then reaching this, should be celebrated and considered a success.

Know when enough is enough.

Where most go wrong is that when they reach their goals this is never enough. Once they achieve this, the new millionaire will compare themselves to the £10m people, the £10m people will then compare themselves to the £100m people and etc. In a continuous cycle of feeding their own ego and greed to be better than their peers.

When you have enough, be content and happy with the financial freedom, but most importantly make the most of the “TIME” freedom this will bring.

We are only on this earth for a small time in the grand scheme of things, ensure you are making the most of your time and spending this with friends and loved ones rather than working yourself to an early grave in pursuit of unimportant material things!
